The Aurora Street Outreach Team supports individuals experiencing housing instability and who are not accessing services at Comitis or Aurora Day Resource Center. The team connects with these individuals, often living in homeless encampments. The Outreach Team builds and establishes trust and supports them in accessing resources available through Comitis. Through its close working relationship with the City of Aurora, the Street Outreach Team responds to the calls made to Access Aurora—a citywide hotline to report homeless encampments. In one year, the Team provides more than 700 service connections to individuals not currently accessing services.
